Motivate Me to Be Successful

"To think about your life is to create it. You have to take ownership of where you are right now and know where you want to go before you can get there. Keep collecting evidence for your success. You can believe it, and you can be it."

When you can't live Ground Hog day any longer

It's just 3 weeks since we returned from a 24 day, 4 states road trip that took us through city scapes, canyon gorges and bitterly cold damp winds under the Golden Gate Bridge. We stayed in cowboy towns and desert climes, we climbed mountains and basked in the Spring sunshine at Pismo Beach, and I got to go back to a wonderful little gem of a place - no really, it's called quartzsite and has an incredible warehouse of crystals. I knew there was a reason why I had packed light.

It takes just over a day from our West Coast home in Perth to reach the West Coast of the States and really all you want to do is get off the plane and have an hour long shower. But there is still customs and bag check claim to get through before finding the right shuttle bus that will take you to the car hire place. There's more standing around and form filling before you can hit the road - but first we had to get out of the garage. What do you mean you have to insert the ticket - have you never heard of scanners?

Living life on the road and out of one bag is not for everyone, but I must have Gypsy in my blood because I get itchy feet if I can't travel. It also proves a major point to me - I don't actually use a lot of stuff. I have a lot of stuff but most of the time they're just another version of the same thing. 4 pairs of identical yoga pants for instance - but that's for convenience as I don't want to exercise in damp clothes.

When I started unpacking and putting things away I made a decision.

I was going on spending moratorium - and the reason is embarrassing.

I began cleaning out cupboards and putting things into piles...does anyone need face cream? It's fantastic stuff, but it's going to take me a while to get through the 12 tubes plus some others I'd forgotten I had.

It wasn't the only decision I made of course.

3 weeks back and I'm dissatisfied with the direction my life is moving in, so like Steve Jobs when he said “If today were the last day of my life, would I want to do what I am about to do today?” And whenever the answer has been “No” for too many days in a row, I know I need to change something."

I needed to change something.

That something happened a week ago.

I'm tempted to run a go fund me campaign just so I can pay the bills. But maybe you can do me a favour and spend a couple of dollars and get one of my e-books - they're on Amazon.  - and who knows the royalties may buy a cup of coffee or something...

BTW - The 4th one on the list isn't mine, but the review looks good if you want to get that one too :-)

Quite often we look at our lives and wonder what would happen if ...

And then go back to living ground hog day. I can't do that anymore and neither should you.
